Live Life Polished: Party Girl Rock

Good Morning!  Today I have a very fun and lovely polish on.  It is a brand called Live Life Polished.  Tammy, the owner, was a little late shipping one of my orders and slipped in a couple minis as a sweet apology.   One of the minis I got was Party Girl Rock.  This is a sheer neon purple looking jelly based polish with silver and fuchsia glitters.   Jelly sandwich in a bottle!  Yum!  I was drawn to the color of the base of this polish.  It is so gorgeous!   Bright yet very girly!  I don't see this polish in her shop.   So I have no clue if this is discontinued or never released but it deserved a post.  And lucky you!  Since I'm obsessed with my new macro lens.  You get a macro shot!  Woot woot!

On my iPad this looks different.  On my phone and computer this looks color accurate!

Please check out Tammy's line of polished at her shop here.  Her polishes are always at a crazy reasonable price.

Ninja Polish: Glamorous

Today I have Ninja Polish Glamorous from their Spectrum Collection.  This is supposed to be a dupe of OPI DS Glamour.  I have no clue what that OPI is, but if this is a dupe then OPI Glamour is gorgeous!!!  I had purchased this beauty a while ago and it had been sitting in it's shipping package for over a month.  Sadness!

After I put on this polish I walked to get my acetone to clean it up and the sunlight hit it just right and it just stopped me dead in my tracks.  So freaking gorgeous!  I had to stare for a minute.  The color, the sparkle, the holoness (not a word).  Just beautiful!

All swatches shown are 2 coats of Glamorous.

Whoa!  This is what caught my eye.  Taken in my house where the sun shone through.

Another shot taken in my house in the sunlight.

Under artifical lighting.  The holo effect is definitely more visible IRL.
Macro shot under artifical lighting.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you enjoyed everything!

Bliss Polish: Breaking Bad Collection

I was asked by a very new indie polish company, Bliss Polish, to swatch her new upcoming collection!  I was so excited that she asked me that I said yes!  She is also a good friend of mine that I met on Instagram.  I was so nervous because I never swatched anything for anyone before.  But this collection is just amazing y'all!

Here is the Breaking Bad Collection!

First up is Cooking!  Cooking is mustard yellow polish with gold shimmer and holo bits.  This polish was a little thick so I added some thinner and it applied beautifully!   I used 2-3 coats.  After all this time I'm still very inconsistent with how I apply my polishes that is why I cannot give a definite answer on how many coats I used.  lol.  I'd say this would be 3 thin coats or 2 medium coats.   Anyways.  I'm always getting off subject.  I love this yellow!  I don't have many yellows in my collection because I don't really like them, but this one was pretty flattering on me.

Next is Chemistry.  This photographed way brighter than it looks in real life.  In real life the color is more muted.  This green has the same gold shimmer and holo bits as Cooking!  This was also a little thick, but some thinner made it perfect!  I really loved the shimmer in this green.  It is very subtle, but makes this a little extra special.  This is also 2-3 coats.

Next is Mr. White.  This is a very pretty white jelly/crelly polish with white glitters, silver holo glitters, and holo glitter bits.  This looked great at 2 coats, but you could definitely see visible nail line, but I really loved it.  For swatching purposed I tried to get it opaque and used 3 coats.  You still see visible nail line on some nails, but I wanted to show the squishiness.  I looooooove jellies and all their squishy glory!

Next is Crystal Blue Persuasion.  This polish is a baby blue crelly with blue glitters, silver holo glitters and holo glitter bits.  This polish was super packed with glitter!  Glitter was sticking to my brush like their life depended on it.  This was opaque in 3 coats.

Last in the collection is Jesse Pinkman.  This is a light pink crelly with pink glitters, silver holo glitters and holo glitter bits.  This was my favorite one in the bunch.  This looked great at 1 coat, 2 coats and 3 coats.  This looked so delicate and girly.  I just loved it so much!  Here I swatched it with 3 coats.  In this case the color photographed lighter than the color in real life.

Did I say that was the last.   I lied.  There is a bonus polish!!!  However this polish is only available if you buy the complete set.  This is Bad Bliss.  This is black jelly polish with various silver holo glitters.  This one is gorgeous and looks like galaxy nails in a botte!  I used three coats.

I hope you liked all my swatches!  This collection will be available on September 6.  Limited quantities will be available.  Please follow Bliss Polish on Instagram here for updates on her launch.  Her store link is here.  Thank you Yvette for letting me swatch these beauties for you!!

Not Nails: Phone Scam Warning

I don't usually answer my house phone because even though I registered it with the donotcall.gov I still get 99% spam calls.  My daughter answered it and handed over the phone to me because the person on the other line asked to speak to her mother.  This guy sounded like he was from India.  The phone connection was not good.  After I spoke I would hear my voice speak again like a second later.  That was very annoying.  He stated that he was calling regarding my "windows computer" and that it has been hacked and doing illegal activity.  I was thinking, what the hell?   Then he stated that he needs me to get into my computer to stop it.  I was like which computer because I have 5 windows computer.  Then he asked, "How is that possible, Ma'am?"   Okay dude, now I know you are doing something suspicious.  I ask what company he is with.  He wouldn't respond for a while.  Then I ask if he is an employee of Microsoft Corporation.  He finally stated that yes he is an employee for Microsoft Computers.  Not quite the same.  Then I tell him I don't believe him and hung up.  He was quite pushy.

I know 99% of you would totally have hung up on the guy.  But just in case I wanted to warn people.  If he couldn't tell me which computer then I'm sure he was not really tracking my computer.  Now if he gave specific details like the make and model of my computer then I would have been a little weirded out.  But I know this was some sort of sick scam.  Boo to crappy people.  And I googled it and other people have experienced the same phone call.  Never answering that damn phone again!

Apparently this has been going on for a while.  This is what I found on Snopes.com, click here.

Mint Mani for Talia Joy!

Talia Joy was a beautiful young girl who touched the lives of many through her love of all things beauty related.  I only found out about her recently, but I am so incredibly in awe of such a young person.  I watched some videos and read a lot about her and for someone going through all that she was she really held it together and kept it positive even though she was probably going through really dark moments.  She definitely shined a bright light on the issue of childhood cancer and truly made the most of her young life.

Her last picture on Instagram was a picture of family picture with matching mint green manicures.  In honor of her Nail Polish Wars began a movement among the nail community #mintmanisfortaliajoy.  Here is my contribution.  I used Sinful Colors Mint Apple.

Twin Nails! Sinful Colors Rise & Shine

So as an official polish addict I'm always on the look out for nail polish.  Every time I go to Target or Walmart I have to stop by the nail section.  Last week I saw some Sinful Colors at Wal-Mart that caught my attention.  I almost put one back, but when I looked at the name I knew I had to get it!!  Rise & Shine.  I had to get it because it is the name of my friend Aneela's blog!  She is the operator of Rise and Shine Beauty.  I immediately tweeted her a picture of the polish and she insisted she get one too!  How fun!  So we decided to wear it and post on our blogs on the same day!

Rise & Shine is a really pretty teal polish with a slight blue shimmer.  The reason why I almost didn't get it was because it was so similar to a polish that I just bought, Essie's Naughty Nautical.  Totally not a dupe, but with my bad camera skills they almost look the same.  Naughty Nautical is a bit more mintier (if that is an counts as a description) or slightly lighter and bluer in color.  Both have a slight shimmer.

Here is my swatch of Rise & Shine!

Sorry I have so much glare from my lamp.  I don't know how people take such beautiful indoor shots of their manis!  Please please check out Aneela's swatch here!  She is also in the middle of running her blog sale and there are some great deals!  So check her out!!

Nail Art: Galaxy Nails!

So lately I have been having a lot of fun attempting to do nail art.  I always wanted to do nail art, but it is rather time consuming and I have ADHD and can't ever find the time.  But because I met some amazing ladies on Instagram who love polish just like me that do this with me they motivate me to follow through!  Every two weeks we attempt a new (to us) nail art technique.  And so far every time we collaborate it comes out brilliantly!  We call ourselves the #nailquintcrew.   You know...because there are five of us. :)

The last time we collaborated we tried galaxy nails.  I was nervous about it, but I've seen many many many ladies attempt galaxy nails and they always come out looking amazing!  It's pretty easy, a little time consuming, but the results are pretty fabulous!!!

For my galaxy nails I used a black base and sponged blue and purple polish.  I also used a star glitter polish for the stars.  I pretty much just picked them out with a toothpick and placed them on the nails.  I finally topped it off with China Glaze Fairy Dust.  I apologize but that is the only polish name that I remember.  :/

My galaxy nails!

This mani looks pretty cool in pictures, but looks so freaking awesome in real life!  I love simple nail art that looks great.
